About the HA02 Battery Equalizer
The HA02 48V Battery Equalizer is a kind of Active Battery Balancer, the 48v balancer is designed by ZHCSolar to achieve the battery bank equilibrium of voltage and power.
the 48V Equalizer support max 4 × 12V Batteries Connection by default. No matter the bank is series or parallel connected.
To equalizing 60V,72V,96V Battery Bank, multiple 48V Battery Balancer can be parallel installed.
48V battery equalizer is suitable for equalizing Lead-acid Battery (VRLA), Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries(LFP), Nickel Cadmium Secondary Batteries(Ni/CD), and Nickel-metal Hydride Secondary Batteries(Ni/MH) lithium-ion Battery.
It starts work when the voltage difference higher than 2.4V, it means that this equalizer can be used in a single cell battery range from 2.4V to 12V.
One equalizer can connect 4 batteries once a time, if battery less than the 4, the extra cable can be vacant (positive and negative terminal should be avoided), it does not affect the equilibrium effects.
The equalizer performance is not affected by the battery connection method, no matter in series or in parallel, both works.
Features of the 48V Battery Balancer:
Intelligent Battery Voltage Equilibrium System – Keep Batteries in Heath Condition to Prolong Battery Service Life
Intelligent Protection: Reverse polarity protection, Low Voltage Disconnect features to Protect the units during each state of charge soc
1 Set for 4 Batteries Connection by Default (Max 12V + 12 V + 12V + 12 V )
Battery Equalizer is recommended for use in autos, boats, golf carts, motorcycles, solar, trucks, RV, electric forklift batteries, solar system, and any other battery groups Configuration. also can work when there is a battery charger connected to the battery.
The principle of Batteries Cell Balancing:
the 48V Battery Balancer is Specialized for keep up the voltage balance of connected battery in series during the Charging and Discharge cycle, due to differences in the chemical composition and temperature of the individual cells that connected in series, It causes two battery charge and discharge differences even the battery is idle, also due to the different levels of self-discharge could lead to an imbalance between serially connected battery at a charging process, because there are differences, it could make a battery excessive charge or discharge, and the other one insufficient charging or discharging.
HA02 battery equalizer can compensate both parties when the battery is connected in series as voltage difference exceeds 10 mV, then the battery equalization starts to work, Final achieved the passive balancing of the batteries set. It can be connected for long periods for automatically battery state of equilibrium.

Nice value battery balancer, works great

Perfect protection for 2 new strings of 8A8D 12-volt batteries wired in series for 48-volts. The solar & grid chargers were not dividing the voltage equally across the AGM batteries, and some were getting almost 2 volts too much! This would surely have destroyed my new 5,000 dollar battery investment. The battery bank is 1/4 if the system cost. Would have been nice to have just a couple more inches if wire leads, and 4 fuses built inline with the leads. These units do “exactly” what they say they’ll do… balance battery voltages when charging and discharging. Will be ordering a spare or two to have on hand in event they go bad and are discontinued. The entire off-grid solar power system rely on these small balancers.

These work surprisingly well. You can measure the current flow between the batteries to see that they really are balancing them

I was having problems with the batteries on my ebike holding a charge. I figured one or two were not getting a full charge so I thought I’d try this before buying new batteries. I’m glad I did. I noticed a difference after the first charge and after the second charge they seemed to be back to normal. I really didn’t expect much but I’m happy to say that this product actually works. I saved about seventy bucks over buying new batteries.

great battery balancer , seems good

Works really well. Batteries all within .07 volts.

Most recommended for 48 v battery banks. Especially off grid battery banks.
The device is easy to connect. It does appear to improve the operation of my old batteries. The unit is sealed/ potted but do not get it wet. The unit emits a high pitched noise, but do to its theory of operation that would appear to be normal.

Keeps a perfect balance within a few hundreds of Volts
does not get hot either, meaning that it works efficiently. The only thing they could have added maybe was an indicator LED, to visualise it works. You have to measure the batteries, to see it works, but each time you do, you find almost perfect equilibrium. I’d buy it again

The 4 battery model is more powerful than the 2 battery model. But only the 2 battery model has indicator lights telling you which battery is getting the power. The 2 battery unit passes 0.25 amps vs 1.2 amps of balancing current of the 4 battery unit. -1 star for not being able to pass 10 amps like the ad States. I even tried having one battery at 15 volts and the other one at 12 and the difference was negligible. When I use the 4 battery model to connect all the wires to only two batteries I was able to pass 1.55amps from the higher battery to the lower battery. I tried flooded lead acid and lithium iron phosphate with similar results. It’s enough to keep healthy batteries balanced but if your having battery problems this will not pass enough current. For the price and the great improvement you’ll get on battery life and safety this is a must purchase for anybody! I mean anyone and everyone. Unless of course you have a high tech cell balancing system like a batrium. unfortunately most lead acid batteries are not sold in single cell units so they will not work with the batrium.

Works awesome on lithium battery banks as well

An elegant solution to problems associated with using batteries in series. If you charge sealed lead acid batteries in series this product is a must have. The problem:When using batteries in series ( in my case a 48V Ewheels ew-36 scooter with four batteries.) battery life suffers. It it is impossible to charge each battery exactly the same when charging in series. As a result some of the batteries in the series string are not charged all the way and other batteries have too much voltage applied. The more batteries you have in series the worse the problem. Both over voltage and insufficient charge conditions can severely degrade battery life and performance. As a result, batteries don’t last very long and they ALL need to be replaced. A series connected battery bank is only as good as the weakest battey. The Equalizer Solution:The 48v Battery Equalizer ensures every battery in the series pack has exactly the same voltage all the time. This unit balances the batteries 24/7 both while charging and while under load. This device in essence compensates for differences in the individual batteries that over time would eventually caused large differences in each battery’s state of charge resulting premature failure of a perfectly good battery.*This device can compensate for some very significant imbalance by providing up to 10 amps of balancing current.PROS:1. Prevents unequal voltages on the battery during the charging process. With unequal voltages some batteries have too much voltage causing venting while other batteries with lower voltage will not charge fully.2. Maintains equal battery voltages while the battery is under load.If one battery is weak, this device is able to deliver current from the remaining good batteries to make up the difference. *This is kind of like having a spare tire. Up to 10 amps of current can be provided.* In my case one of my 4 scooter batteries was significantly impaired only allowing 15 to 20 minutes of operation before the voltage fell off the cliff. With this device installed the other three batteries were able to provide the current to the the weak battery. It is like a magic trick. Very cool!! So, it is like having a spare tire while I wait for my new set of batteries to arrive.3. This device will pay for itself by increasing the life of the battery pack.A set of four Deep Cycle 12V 20AH AGM batteries cost between $ 200 and $400. If the batteries are not balanced when new they may only last a year or so. By using the battery equalizer a new set of batteries should last between 3 and 5 years. (Balanced batteries in this case means the same state of charge and the same battery capacity.)CONS1. This device is a little pricey at $60Everytime a new set of batteries is installed there is a risk that one of the batteries is a little weaker than the others. It is kind of the luck of the draw amd depends on the manufacturer. This can cause the batteries to fail in a few months even with diligent care in maintaining the charge in the batteries. So, once faced with the $200 to $300 bill for replacing the batteries $60 does not seem like a whole lot.2. Attention to detail is required during wiring.Eight connection are required to hookup up this unit and care must be taken as the batteries can’t be turned off while hooking up the wires. Make sure none of the wires touch each other or touch the wrong battery terminal. If in doubt ask a knowledgeable person for help.3. This device uses a small amount of current all the time.Be aware that the Battery Equalizer uses a few milliamps of current all the time and will very slowly discharge the battery. If you will not be around for a few months you may choose to go to the trouble of disconnecting this device. Think of this as extra battery leakage. The batteries should be charged regularly due to self discharge. You may just need to do it a little more frequently with this device installed.Bottom line: If you have series connected batteries getting weak or failing after with in a year or so, this device should help the situation a bunch. Get a fresh set of batteries and a a battery equalizer and enjoy the magic!Make sure your charger is correct for your particular battery set. In my case the four batteries are charged to 14.7 volts each so the charger should never put out more than 58.8 volts. If your charger puts out too much voltage or not enough voltage you may experience battery life issue that voltage equalizer cannot resolve.

When product arrived I wasn’t happy when I opened the package. The device looked as if it was plastic welded together with a huge chunk of melted plastic on the side. I didn’t have time to return it for the cosmetic defect because I was moving. Long story short, after moving and setting up my solar it have performed very good for over a month. Just be warned that this device does create a high frequency pitched noise. I don’t think everyone can hear this noise but I can while my wife and son cant seem to hear it. This noise doesn’t seem to bother my animals though.

UPDATED REVIEW:I realized one of my batteries goes out of balance constantly, it seems to deviate itself by about 0.4v without the balancer. Thankfully the balancer now keeps them within 0.1 at most. Both batteries are the same but one has a bit newer design than the other and that maybe ( some old BMS with a parasitic draw). Anyway, I am happy with the balancer and I purchased a second one to add to my other battery series.OLD REVIEW:My battery bank at the end of the day was 0.1 volts difference, I connected the unit as specified in the diagram, red on positive, white on middle, black on negative, it started blinking on the lowest voltage battery ( I think the manual says the opposite: it should blink on the highest voltage battery) 12 hours after, the device still blinking and the battery voltage has drifted for almost 0.2volts, I am starting to think it may not be working properly. By the time the video was taken, it has been connected 12 hours approximately and battery A was 13.1 volts and battery B was 12.93 ( battery B being the one with lower voltage and blinking)

We had four Trojan L16 6 volt batteries (420 amp hours each) that failed over the course of months. The batteries cost about $300 each. When one failed we hoped it was an anomaly, as the batteries were only about three years old, so purchased one replacement. Several months later a second failed, so we bought one more. A couple months later another failed, so we bought two and now had four new batteries purchased at different times over the course of about six months. The two last-purchased batteries tested over 30 points lower on the hydrometer than the other two batteries. I tried equalizing them, ultimately for days (on solar system so only about six hours per day on equalize). One refused to come up and its lowest cell remained 30 points below the highest cell on the other batteries. I ordered one of the HA02 balancers, but it was hard to tell from the description if it would work with these batteries. I asked a question, and after a couple of weeks the seller answered, saying it would not work with a 24 volt system and I had to purchase a different one. However, the balancer arrived and its instructions say it will work with 4 batteries (apparently, each battery, not the entire series), from 2.5 up to 12 volts each. So, I gave it a try.It has been on for three days and the batteries that were 30 points apart on the hydrometer are now only 10 points apart, getting better each day. I expect over time for the batteries to fully balance and will come back and edit this review if something changes. So far, I would say this balancer does exactly what it claims to do.If you have a series of 2 to 4 flooded lead acid batteries that are not balanced, so far, I say go ahead and get this balancer, hook it up, and watch your hydrometer readings come into sync.

A small LED light tells you that balancing is in progress. The box itself does not get hot at all, meaning that it works rather efficient. GREAT BUY ! Don’t hesitate on this one.

I fully recommend this balancer 100%. I had all of my 16 batteries in different voltages and one of them was .8 volts lower than the rest at all times. Battery won’t last very long. After I installed this balancer all of my batteries now are just .01 difference from each other. And battery lasts 4 or 5 hours more, if not all night until the sun comes back up. My batteries are AGM 12 volt 100ah each and I hooked it to the top 4 of the pack. Still it effectively balanced all the batteries in the pack. It just works!

If you get any kind of homes that are even a crossed off 4 I’m setting it’s bad there should not Be a constant resistance or an alarm.be a constant resistance or an alarm.Tossup on what you get these are made in China I went to the website all silly typos in English. Can’t get technical support. I’ve had one for two months and one that I just got on the last two weeks they seem to do their job but they run hot to touch seems like they are under sized on wire

I use it on my boat to keep trolling motor batteries equalized. Extra benefit, I use the Std .75 amp genius charger on one battery let the equalizer bring the other battery up. I then tie in my starter battery and it equalized that as well.Don’t spend money on multi bank charger just use this box, SLOW charge one battery and let it charge the other.

Short review: It works well and seems well built…Longer review: I bought this unit to balance my 24 volt flooded lead acid battery bank. It is eight 6 volt golf cart batteries in a 4s2p configuration to give 24 volts. The lugs on the end of the wires fit the studs on the batteries perfectly. Note – the “48V” in the name of the unit is the maximum voltage the unit can handle, it is totally capable of balancing 4 batteries in series that range from 2.4v per battery to 12v. That means it would work well for balancing LiPo, LiFePO, NiMH batteries as well as Lead Acid batteries. The balancing current ranges from 0 to 10 amps and triggers at1.2mA when using 12v batteries. One of the images attached shows the current flow from/to each parallel pair of batteries, as expected current was flowing in some batteries and out of others. Will update this review as time goes on, but for now the unit does exactly what I wanted it to do……..

After purchasing four 12 volt, gel, deep cycle batteries for my 24volt solar system I found that the batteries were charging and discharging at different rates. Thought I would give this unit a try and it really works. Now the batteries are balanced and working to their optimum. Great cheap solution and yes you only need one for four batteries in series/ parallel 24volt set up.

Just wish wires were a bit longer. I had to splice the white wire to get length I needed. Using it on a solar backup system with a inverter/charger. I was getting more water loss on one side of my 24v bank and it was charging a lot. Definitely seen a drop in water loss and charging. My volt meter shows equal voltage so, I guess it’s doing it’s job.

UPDATE: it seems to correctly show the imbalance based upon adding a charger to one battery versus the other. However it doesn’t seem to actually do the balancing function, I left a charger on all night on one battery and the other battery was still low in the morning by a lot. Maybe I just have a bad one? It’s an act of faith that it works – they should add bicolor LEDs so you can watch current flow. The 2-batt version has this and works, so -1 for that. I charge independently 12v so this is just helping during discharge.I also fried 3/4 of a bank when I missed connecting a terminal. Not sure why this occurred. The surviving battery was the one I missed. -1 more for not having some failsafe for pilot error – so be careful (I was upside down in cramped space on a boat)

Seems to be working correctly. My batteries were out of balance and charging them individually was tedious. I chose this product over Victron Battery Balancer because theirs seemed to only work at a higher voltage than my bank would ever reach and was much to expensive for what little it did. My only complaint with this unit is that the cables are very short, I can’t seem to find a way to mount the thing.

According to description, one of these should be enough to balance four six volt batteries in series (a 24 volt battery bank.) I hooked it up according to description and one of the batteries immediately shorted. No harm done, but the pictured schematics will result in a short for a 24 volt battery bank wired in series. This is a safety issue, hence my review to alert others. I asked seller for advice and was told I needed to buy two more of these and connect them in a different manner*. The reviews for this item are mostly 5 star, but I can’t say their particular application. Other items from the seller also appear problematic. Language and instruction problems from a likely well meaning vendor. I may buy the other two items or return the one, I don’t know as yet. The item itself may be good, but the instructions and description are faulty. Hopefully the seller will correct. Sellers reply to me (the attachment illustrated a different wiring schematic from the one described in the ad): *hi, so sorry about it. we make a mistakes that think you order a other 48V for lead-acid and lithium battery balancer. the battery balancer you purchased is BE 24. if you want use it with 4 6 volt, you should purchase 3 these. and you have one in hand. you need purchase extra 2 . and then connnect them as attachment.Contact us if you have any questionPowMr Service Team

So, I had ordered one of these from another seller almost a year ago and it did not work. Thought that these were probably fake or just didn’t work very well, or noticeably at all? Well, I never stopped thinking about how badly I wanted my 16(1S2P) golf cart battery array to be balanced because the voltages were all over the place even after a few equalization cycles. So then I saw one of these again and decided to just give it another try. Well… It works amazingly well! I now have 2 hooked up after digging through the guts of the old defective one and repairing it now that I know when they work, they WORK! If you happen to be in close proximity to your battery bank on the other hand, they emit a loud, high pitched “coil whine”. Enough to make some people hate them. I for one would much rather my multi-thousand dollar battery bank gets the treatment they deserve for faithfully serving me up my collected solar energy 24/7. Will for sure be getting more of these!

It has to be a full volt difference in batteries for equalization to kick in. Then it stops equalization while they are still a full volt out of wack.. Lame! If it did what it’s supposed to do. I would give it 5 stars. I don’t have an amp meter to test it with or I’m sure I’d be even more disappointed.
