About the 80A MPPT Solar Charge Controller
The 80A MPPT solar charge controller belong to the Latest EPever Tracer AN series mppt controller, the mppt controller based on multiphase synchronous rectification technology (MSRT) and advanced MPPT control algorithm, with dual-core processor architecture and common negative design, has the features of high response speed, high reliability, and high industrial standard.
the MSRT can guarantee very high conversion efficiency in any charging power, which sharply improves the energy efficiency of the solar system; Advanced MPPT control algorithm minimize the maximum power point loss rate and loss time, to ensure the tracking efficiency, corresponding speed as well as high conversion efficiency under high or low power, so that in any situation, Tracer AN mppt solar charge controller products can rapidly track the maximum power point(MPP) of PV array to obtain the maximum energy of the panel.
The limitation function of the charging power and current, and automatic power reduction function fully ensure the stability when works with oversize PV modules and operate under a high-temperature environment.
With the adaptive three-stage charging mode based on the digital control circuit,
Tracer AN 80A Mppt Solar Charge Controller can effectively prolong the life-cycle of battery and significantly improve the system performance. The load, utility or generator auto-control relays make it easy to compose the hybrid power system. All-around electronic protections, including overcharging, over discharging, and PV reverse polarity protection, effectively ensure the safer and more reliable operation of the solar system for longer service time.
The isolated RS485 interface with standard MODBUS communication protocol and 5V power supply makes it easy for the customer to expand the application, it supports up to 8 charging in parallel to expand the system and meet with different monitoring requirements, so that can be widely used for various applications, e.g. solar RV, household system and field monitoring etc.

Outstanding charge controller! Monitors your system, and gives you the feedback you need to fine tune. Bought this in place of the che charge controller I got in a kit. I would buy it again and every time I needed one. Cannot speak to highly of this fine product.

Works well I have the 40amp and loved it so I got the 60amp. Great product

Liked the ease of setup and accessories it came with. The instructions were pretty detailed although require some knowledge to understand fully. Used for a 2000 watt Pv system for an off grid cabin. Plenty of features also. Unsure of longevity as it has been in use for only 1 month. Price was more than fair for what you get and the quality. I’m happy with my purchase.

Seemed a easy install my electrician said. We originally installed with a 12v battery bank. Later we purchased a hybrid inverter and more panels and switched to a 48v battery backup. After my electrician installed the new inverter/charger controller he attempted to hook my 2nd string of panels to the epever inverter starting with hooking the batteries up 1st. The second he touched the positive cable to the positive post the charge controller made sparking sounds and smoke came out. This charge controller is said to handle 48v but did not do so.

It has been installed a week now. It works great even when there is less than desirable sun light. I only gave it four stars because the Icon for the battery shows half even on a full charge. You have to pay attention to the voltage.I think they decided to start it at half because you typically only run the batteries to half depth of discharge. That’s just my opinion.

Excellent solar controller, but needs full base system controls, and/or Apple MacBook software and iPhone app support!!! The screw on the bracket that secures the wires stripped, and needs to be more durable. The Manuel needs to describe the DC wire insertion is to turn counter-clockwise to open, the clock-wise to secure wires. The clock needs 12hr AM/PM option. The meter wire port needs to be labeled as left, right, or that both (either) is operational. The battery default settings need more options for various battery types, like 12Volt Interstate Batteries says the highest recommended charge is 14.1, but the over volt disconnect is 16volt, which is too high, unless I misunderstand the function. The battery temp wire needs to be offered in various lengths, my RV battery bank to controller is 35ft, so I hade to purchase warehouse wire to splice, which may now give inaccurate readings. The Manuel needs to describe where on the battery to place the sensor, like the near the positive pole on the inner most battery. A more accurate temperature sensor is needed to monitor every battery in the battery bank to prevent fire hazards. The mounting screws do not screw into the provided plastic mounts, and both are to weak for the heavy weight in a traveling RV.

Purchased this unit back in September and it’s been nothing but a problem.1. The remote display will just drop off and lose connection.2. Overheats very easily, even with proper ventilation.3. Very difficult to contact support when something goes wrong. Good luck getting anyone on the phone.4. The unit has completely stopped working after only two months of non continuous use. The unit maybe has 40 hours of total use.

Absolutely awesome charge controller! I wired 12, 100 watt panels to the 60 amp mppt in a 48 volt series/ parallel…3 sets of 4 panels series together…500 ah 24 volt battery bank. I see 2.9 kwh on cloudy days 4.5-5 kwh on sunny days. I’ve seen as high as 1350 watts come in from 1200 watts rated panels! Don’t cheap out on wire and plan out your system rite. Matching panels, batteries, equal length wires, minimum resistive points, good clean connections….and you will be happy. Thus is my 2nd epever mppt on different projects, 1 running 3 months, other 3 years. Both are perfect still and meters still read like they did out of the box.

I bought this for a bus conversion in January 2020. The project took longer than expected to hook up the solar system. The EPEVER 60amp worked for 2 days then died. Pretty expensive charge controller for 2 days of work!

Item was described as 10420AN which can handle 200 Voc / 180Voc at 25 degC from panels. However I received 2x 10415AN which can handle 150Voc / 138 V at 25 degC. I will have to review my connection arrangement because of that. I see that the seller updated most of the decription text. Other than that, controllers look very good. If they work like as expected the 5th star will be added.

Worked out the box. Haven’t had time to learn all the function keys and corded attachments. got 2 and both charging battery’s from solar everyday past 2 weeks ,Long run will tell.

Screws will hold 6 gauge wire. Needes the wire clamps to be separate pieces so two size input out put wires could be used. Maybe a allen screw instead of Phillips scew. I get almost 100 amp output from 6 400 watt panels. Doesn’t seem to get really hot. I have 4 now in use an all work great.

I have two of these and wouldn’t hesitate to buy more if needed. They have worked flawlessly and the USER setting has been used to charge LiFePo4 battery banks.

Very easy to use and works very well. I am having a very good experience using it. I recommend this product.

I have installed 5 EPEver systems, The systems with lead acid were super easy. I would recommend for lead acid or flooded. Great price for a charge controller this powerfulFor the Lithium battery systems, these are a real pain to program without a computer. Using the MT-50 Remote is a ridiculous process where you must program in values using the up / down / left / right arrows and program parameters in a specific order to avoid the dreaded ‘PARA ERROR’. For this they lost 2 stars – programming custom charge values should be super smooth, easy and intuitive.

cant setup from main display, no load output, limited voltage input, phone app doesnt work.

This product is outstanding in its operation I’ve had it installed since April working flawlessly During the day if I draw current The charger automatically compensate. I have had two other MPPT chargers that did not perform anywhere near this one does. I have 2100 W and 70 volts going into it . There’s days that will produce 95 to 98 A to the batteries
