I was aware of the product specification by other users, but the performance of it was a review by me when I install it. The unit is well constructed, the unit holds very good a 4 gauge wire in the connections ports. See my project almost terminate and working ok. My excuses to the seller for the delay in the preview. I wanted to be sure before given my opinion.

Easy to set up and seems to be a very well built controller.Installed late in the day with a cloudy sky but still saw an impressive amount of power from the unit.Currently have 4 170 watt panels in series but will soon increase to 6 panels in series.

I got 2 units b/c DIY solar with Will Prowse recommended them.You can trust Will Prowse.I also got the MT50 remote units mounted right beside them for viewing/ editing.I implented a 24V configuration.Each is connected to 3 Renogy 320W panels in series.I have 3 facing morning sun and 3 facing evening sun.The morning oriented panels produce significant power in the evening and vice versa,partly due to the 3 Renogy panels generating high voltage to siphon current from the sun.

I bought this more expensive charge controller because I didn’t want any problems with heat and a good MPPT design. It’s highly rated for good reason. I’m using it in my shop to power a ham radio station. The 40 amp is plenty of capacity.

This was simple to set up, within about 15 minutes of the controller being delivered, I was able to get it hooked up and charging.The only issue I had, I was trying to use 10AWG cable and ended up needing to crimp on a solid lead to the end to get the cables to stay in, otherwise, they seemed to be loose and would come out of the ports when the cables were moved at all.
